Part Time Positions
PT/ Receptionist:
Responsibilities: Professionally answering multiple phone lines, helping callers with questions including information about Thanksgiving Point and current events and transferring calls. Receptionists will also help with all aspects of data entry and field trip and class registrations, metering company mail, and tracking lost and found. Any other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements: Must have exceptional communication skills and a friendly personality. Must posses a working knowledge of Microsoft Word applications and have the ability to learn new skills and programs. Typing skills are necessary.
Shifts: Every Friday 10am-5pm and Saturday 10am-4pm. Flexibility to fill in for others on sick/vacation days.
PT/ Seasonal / Museum Guest Services:
Responsibilities: Operation of a cash register for sales of exhibit and 3D movie tickets, helping with museum events including Dinosnorzz and birthday parties, supervision of exhibits and some light cleaning.
Requirements: Must have excellent guest service and money handling skills. Must also work well with children of all ages.
Shifts: Variable shifts between 9am and 9pm. Season ends mid August. Must be available Saturday’s and Holidays. May be able to stay year round if available for day shift in the Fall.
PT/ Receiving Clerk :
Responsibilities: Provide support to retail team with assorted duties including check in, pricing, and stocking daily product shipments, moving furniture from basement to sales floor, delivery of furniture pieces, floral and gift baskets. Assisting site décor department, driving forklift (will train if needed). Helping guests with heavy purchases. Any other duties as assigned by a manager.
Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license with a good record. High School graduate or equivalent. Must be able to lift 50-100 lbs.
Shifts: 20-24 hours/week (timeframe 9am.-6.pm.) Alternating Saturdays required.
PT/ Seasonal / Fairy Godmother:
Responsibilities: Provide hands-on assistance and offer detailed personal attention to wedding parties at Thanksgiving Point weddings and receptions. Take care of last minute details and assist the wedding party throughout the duration of the event. Correspond with Catering Staff to assure the event runs smoothly. Express gratitude and congratulations to the Bride and Groom following the event.
Requirements: Must have excellent conversational and social skills with confidence in meeting new people and establishing relationships. Must be energetic, confident, and composed under pressure. Must be able to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Shifts: Must have a flexible schedule to conform to scheduled wedding dates. Part time working hours will include weekends, evenings and daytime.
PT/ Seasonal Wedding Set Up Assistant:
Responsibilities: Will take direction from the Wedding Manager while working to set up for weddings. Duties include polishing silver, putting up signs, chair covers, & linens. Also decoration with garland, floral, lights, etc.
Requirements: Experience in floral design and / or interior design helpful. Wedding experience is also preferred. High school graduate, College design course helpful.
Shifts: Must have an open schedule, able to work days or evenings Monday- Saturday. Approximately 2-4 hours per wedding.
PT/ Restaurant Food Runner / Busser:
Responsibilities: Delivery of food orders from Thanksgiving Point kitchen to guests at the Marriott Hotel. Assist servers by delivering food orders up a flight of stairs from the kitchen to Harvest Restaurant. Acting as busser as secondary job title includes bussing tables, filling water glasses and other duties as assigned by a manager.
Requirements: Must be friendly and outgoing, able to multi task and work well under pressure. Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.
Shifts: Must be available for day shift 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. Full availability is a plus.
PT/ Banquet Server:
Responsibilities: Setup and service of Catered Events and Weddings including filling drinks, setting rooms, bussing and serving. Will be responsible to maintain the highest level of service.
Requirements: A current food handler’s permit is required. Must have great people skills, problem solving abilities, be self motivated, and must be able to lift 30 lbs. Previous experience is a plus.
Shifts: Variable shifts, days and evenings available. Weekends are a must.
PT/ Education Assistant /Tour Guide:
Responsibilities: Assistants will be working with teachers and children guiding tours through Thanksgiving Point Venues. Each tour guide must be responsible for the safety of their group at all times. Will be working with Farm Animals and driving the farm tractor. Will also be responsible for setup and cleanup. Requirements: Must have a good driving record, work well with children and have a desire to teach them. Must have good communication skills and be willing to learn a variety of education topics.
Shifts: Must be available 9am-3pm as school is in session. Some nights and weekends may be required.
PT/ Deli and Soda Fountain Cashier:
Responsibilities: Greet guests and take orders. Operate and balance a till. Prepare menu items, buss tables and do general cleaning. Other duties as requested by supervisor.
Requirements: Applicants must work well with the public, have a current food handler’s permit, and money handling abilities. Must be able to lift 30 lbs. and be able to stand for long periods of time and climb stairs.
Shifts: Must be available to work day shift. 10am-3pm.
PT/ Harvest Restaurant Server.
Responsibilities: Include taking orders, serving food, and minor preparation. Will take ownership of all guest’s needs. Must have a current food handler’s permit and be able to lift 30 lbs.
Requirements: Must have exceptional guest service skills and a good disposition. Previous experience is desired.
Shifts: Primarily day shifts 10:30- 4:00. Open availability a plus.
